AT&T has released a new golden version of the Motorola Razr V3xx. Of course it isn't made of pure gold, but has a neat gold color finish.

According to various sources (including "The Mercury News") this morning, the great debate over the name "iPhone" has reach and end. The debacle began late last year, when Cisco released a VOIP device it called the iPhone. The debate peaked again at MacWorld in January, when Steve Jobs marched on stage and presented Apple's long-anticipated product with the same name. It's been pretty harsh on both sides, with ardent Apple defenders decrying the lawsuit as frivolous and claiming that Apple's trademark for the iPhone name abroad was stronger than Cisco's ownership here in the United States. Apple detractors lauded Cisco for standing up to Apple and challenging what they perceived as another example of Apple's legal aggression, especially in the wake of Apple's lawsuits against other companies over use of the word "iPod" in their own product names and trademarks.
All in all, the argument drew a lot of fire and heated emotions, but one thing is absolutely clear: It came to perhaps the most predictable yet anticlimactic conclusion possible, an amicable settlement by both parties.
The always fashionable folks at Neiman Marcus have decided to dip their delicate toes into the world of tech with a new cell phone service dubbed Voce. They've made agreements with other carriers to ensure you actually have coverage and in order to join their "premium" service you have to cough up a $500 initiation fee. BenQ is expecting to throw more weight into its campaign in China, lining up a series of its music-capable phones sometime in the first half of next year. Taking after the silver colored EF71, these new handsets will come in gold, pink, and purple colors. Features of this cellphone include a 2 megapixel camera, an OLED display, enhanced music playback capability, dedicated music controls located on top, and 3D surround stereo sound for great sound amongst others. There is no word on pricing, but it should be something worth saving up for especially if you're residing in China.

Rumors of a Zune phone could very well be proved true a few years down the road, what with the hints dropped by Microsoft when the company submitted a filing to the FCC just this week. This file touched on a wireless device which could be used to talk via the Internet, courtesy of OFDM technology which can be used to route digital TV and voice calls among different devices. Imagine making calls on a WiFi/WiMax network with the Zune phone - the market is still in its infancy at this point of time, but according to the Zune roadmap that features a revamp every three years, 2008 is a good year as all the necessary pieces on the chessboard will probably be in a favorable position.
A prototype jacket being shown at CeBIT features a built-in cell phone, MP3 player, headphones, microphone and GPS. It also features "GPSoverIP," which is a kind of indoor GPS. The jacket also has an emergency "call button," so if you find yourself in troubles you can get some help right the way. (They can start digging from the point where your GPS signal disappeared.)
