A prototype jacket being shown at CeBIT features a built-in cell phone, MP3 player, headphones, microphone and GPS. It also features "GPSoverIP," which is a kind of indoor GPS. The jacket also has an emergency "call button," so if you find yourself in troubles you can get some help right the way. (They can start digging from the point where your GPS signal disappeared.) Don't you want one? I do! I do! do they come in pink? and with matching shoes?
The German Fraunhofer Institute is working on a solar powered cell phone, by using high-efficiency solar cells integrated to the device. This should able the cell phone to remain continuously powered up, as long as it receives sufficient sunlight (about 2 hours per day), if not, it can be charged using the conventional means. One thing is for sure, you won't run out of battery when you are at the beach!
Polymer Vision located on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, has come
out with a cell phone that has a roll out screen, granted I knew
flexible screen technology has been out there for a while, so I
probably should of expected cell phones to be one of the first
technologies that should implement roll out screens, that doesn’t make
it any less amazing to see.
Imagine the pleasure it would be to surf the internet or view mulitimedia videos and images.
Todays regular cell phones, although they have internet access and can even have a web browser downloaded and installed on them, the screen is still hopelessly small for it to be of any real, practical use.
